Take notice that a Public Hearing will be held at the Port Sheldon Township Hall, 16201 Port Sheldon Street, West Olive, Michigan, 49460 by the Port Sheldon Township Planning Commission on September 24, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. to hear and consider the following matter(s):
- Receive public comment prior to adoption of the Master Plan. A copy of the proposed Master Plan is available for public review and inspection during normal business hours in the Township Offices or on the Master Plan Website. (www.planportsheldon.com)
Any persons interested in these matters may appear at such hearings in person or by agent or attorney. Written comments will be received at the Township Office until the night of the hearing. Port Sheldon Township is updating its Parks and Recreation Master Plan and we want to hear from you!
The survey will be available from Monday, Aug. 4th to Friday, Aug. 29th
The survey can be found using this link. Hardcopies of the survey will be available at the Township Hall.
Windsnest Park Restrooms/Water Off for Well Maintenance
Windsnest Park restroom building and water are off due to well maintenance.
Portable Restrooms are on site.

Cement work at the Township Hall Pickleball Courts and Playground
*Update:Work is completed*
Beginning July 15th and extending through July 17th, there will be concrete work done near the pickleball courts and playground at the Township Hall. Please refrain from using fresh poured walkways until set. Pickleball courts can be accessed using the west gate, but please still park in the north parking lot. Questions may be directed to the Township Office at (616) 399-6121.
Playground Structure Painting Friday, July 11th
*Update: Work is completed*
On Friday, July 11th, the swing set and metal dome structure at the Port Sheldon Community Park behind the Township offices will be repainted. Please refrain from using this part of the playground for a few days until paint has cured.
Pigeon Lake Weed Treatment
Pigeon Lake will be treated for nuisance weed and algae on Monday, July 7. There is a 1-day swimming and 3-day irrigation restriction for this treatment. Contact PLM at 616-891-1294 for more information.
Request for Proposals – Township Hall Flooring
Port Sheldon Township is requesting proposals for professional services to replace the flooring in the Township Hall.
The Township hall has served hundreds of residents and their guests for parties, family gatherings, and meetings for many years. Upgrades to the current flooring are a high priority at this time in order to keep up with the demand for use and upkeep of this facility.
Sealed Bids are due by August 12, 2025 at noon.
