Financial Scams Seminars from Ottawa County

Ottawa County is offering more Financial Scams Seminars coming up in February! These presentations cover key topics such as technology scams, social media risks, romance scams, government impersonators, and grandchild scams. You’ll gain valuable knowledge to avoid falling victim to these crimes.
If you receive an email claiming to be from the Township and are unsure of its legitimacy, do not respond, click links or send payment. Instead, contact the office directly through the official phone number or website to verify.
We urge all residents and businesses to:
• Carefully verify the sender’s email address
• Be cautious of unexpected payment requests
• Do not click links or open attachments from suspicious messages

Trash Service Update

Reminder: Saturday trash drop-off hours are 7:30–10:30 AM.

To ensure your trash is collected, you must be in the entrance of the trash circle by 10:30 AM, vehicles on the road are not considered “in” the trash circle.
The refuse hauler will leave the site immediately after 10:30 AM to reach the landfill before closing. If they arrive late, the township is charged an additional 2.5 hours of costs

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PORT SHELDON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

 

Take notice that a Public Hearing will be held at the Port Sheldon Township Hall, 16201 Port Sheldon Street, West Olive, Michigan, 49460 by the Port Sheldon Township Board of Trustees on January 14, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. to hear and consider the following matter(s):

 

  1. Receive public comment prior to adoption of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. A copy of the proposed Parks and Recreation Master Plan is available for public review and inspection during normal business hours in the Township Offices or on the Township Website.

 

Any persons interested in these matters may appear at such hearings in person or by agent or attorney. Written comments will be received at the Township Office until the night of the hearing. Copies of documentation are on file at the township office for public inspection during regular business hours.  Direct phone inquiries to the Township at 616-399-6121.

2026-2030 5-YEAR PARKS MASTER PLAN

 

Port Sheldon Township is updating its 5-Year Parks and Recreation Plan, and we want to hear from you!

 

The draft plan will be available to review from Thursday, Dec. 11th to Friday, Jan. 9th

 

The plan will be available at the following locations:

A PUBLIC HEARING to discuss and finalize the plan will be held on Wednesday, January 14th @ 5:30pm

during the regular township board meeting located in the Township Hall.

PST Fire Dept collecting toys for area children
