The township’s new fire truck was on display during Summerfest. If you missed the event, this beautiful truck is shown here. Our firefighters have spent many long hours training on this equipment prior to its inaugural run.
Join us for the return of Summerfest! Fun activities for all ages include egg toss, face painting and bounce house. New this year is magician, PJ Weber, who will be performing live at the event. Also enjoy music from the West Ottawa Jazz Band.
Enjoy great food from Hog Wild BBQ!
The Port Sheldon Township Fire Department will showcase its new fire truck.
The event runs from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
It has come to our attention that someone is soliciting vendors for a craft show at Windsnest Park on April 30th and May 1st.
This appears to be a scam.
There IS NOT a Spring Fling Craft Show at Windsnest Park on April 30th and May 1st.
Local law enforcement has been contacted.
Summerfest is back and volunteers are needed to set up, take down and serve. The time commitment varies on task, but volunteers can serve for as little as one hour, or up to half a day. If you are interested in assisting during this great community event, please contact the township office at 616-399-6121.
A majority of township bike paths have had a spring sweeping, but mechanical issues with our tractor have halted progress on the remaining paths. Parts are on order and the paths will be swept once repairs are complete. The township appreciates your patience.
Please join us in honoring Howard Baumann and his years of service and congratulating him on his retirement.
Township offices will be closed to regular business on this Wednesday evening to allow staff to celebrate with Howard.
All residents who expressed interest and submitted resumes for the Supervisor position were interviewed by the township board. On April 1, 2022, a special board meeting was held and the board appointed Mike Sabatino, by unanimous vote, as our new township supervisor.
Mike will continue in his current role as Building/Zoning Administrator while concurrently training with Howard until April 30. On May 1st, Mike will begin his duties as Supervisor and the township will replace his position in building and zoning.
