Effective June 18, 2020, the entire water area of Pigeon Lake is completely no-wake for a period of six months. In May, a public hearing was held to seek input on temporary measures for Pigeon Lake after many residents contacted the township. Following the public hearing, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources investigated and recommended a Temporary Watercraft Ordinance for Pigeon Lake. Following the DNR’s recommendation, the township board adopted the ordinance on June 11, 2020 and the ordinance became effective June 18, 2020. Signs posted at the launch and channel will reflect this change and this ordinance will be enforced by Ottawa County’s Marine Division.
