The Treasurer is an elected position with a term of four years.
The Treasurer is responsible for collecting real and personal property taxes, collecting delinquent personal property tax, collecting mobile home specific tax, keeping an account of receipts and expenditures, issuing township checks, depositing revenues in approved depositories, and investing township funds in approved investment vehicles.
As additional duties, our Treasurer is a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Treasurer’s Department collects property tax monies for local taxing jurisdictions.
For 2022, the amount of monies collected for each of the local taxing jurisdictions were as follows:
Ottawa Area Intermediate School District – $3.399 million
Grand Haven Area Public Schools – $3.229 million
West Ottawa Public Schools – $3.223 million
Ottawa County – $2.974 million
State Education – $2.946 million
Port Sheldon Fire Department– $602,200
Port Sheldon Township – $547,475
Loutit District Library – $293,994
Port Sheldon Township Library Services (Herrick District Library) – $54,571
