Road Widening and Resurfacing Notification

This letter is to inform you that the Ottawa County Road Commission has scheduled road widening and resurfacing along Lakeshore Drive from New Holland Street to Butternut Drive, and it is anticipated that the work will begin on July 27, 2015. The anticipated completion date of this project is September 18, 2015. New sidewalk ramps meeting current A.D.A. standards will also be installed during this project.

The road will not be closed as the work will be done with lane closures and traffic control. The resurfacing will take place in several stages and may take some time to complete. Inclement weather will also be a factor in the timely completion of the project.

Your mail box may be moved and readjusted to a height as specified by the mail carrier.

If you have items within the road right-of-way that are near the existing roadway or sidewalk ramps, such as irrigation or landscaping, please make arrangements to remove these items. You may flag the irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, or other items and contractor may make an effort to avoid them. However, neither the contractor nor the road commission will be held responsible should any damage occur to these items within the road right-of-way.

Once the new asphalt surface has been placed, please avoid parking on the roadway for at least a week. This will help minimize any possible damage to the new pavement.

If you should have any further questions or require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 616-842-5400 and ask for Joe Wallace.
